Fifteen new species of birds were recently discovered in the Amazon rainforest. We haven't found that many new birds in one year since 1871. You can see nine of them in this gallery, but here's my favorite.
I'm not sure if I like it best because it's so cute or because it's called a 'muppet-Bowie' bird.
The muppet-Bowie bird is a new member of the Bucconidae family, which nest in holes -- either in the ground, or in a termite mound.
