Just for fun: Gravity-defying beads

Science presenter and comedian Steve Mould demonstrates his amazing gravity-defying beads.

Two things about these beads. First, there's nothing special about them. They aren't magnetic, or filled with helium or anything. Just ordinary metal beads like you'd find attached to a ceiling fan. Second, they aren't really defying gravity.

Mould gives his own explanation for this phenomenon.

Aatish Bhatia has a much more detailed (and mathematical) explanation at Empirical Zeal.
